About me

Thanks for visiting my website for pet services to which I have added a link to my poetry shop on Etsy which you will find under the section Spectrum Poetry. This is something which has recently (2017) grabbed my interest and brought out the creative side in me unlike animals which I have always been surrounded by from a very young age. Our home was never complete without fish, hamsters, tortoises or Great Danes so I guess it was inevitable that one day I might work with animals too.
On leaving home it was cats that adopted my home and me for 25 years and my Golden Retriever Barney who adorns every page of my website.
In 2002 my working life took a change of direction when I became a volunteer with the SSPCA at their Middlebank Wildlife Hospital near Inverkeithing. My role there was to help care for the sick, injured and orphaned animals. The washing of oiled birds was also carried out at the centre which I was involved in on one occasion and derived much satisfaction from. Of course the ultimate reward was the final release of animals back into the wild.
2002 also saw the start of my studies into animals as I enrolled in an HNC in Animal Care at Elmwood College. I completed this in 2003 and started my dog walking and pet sitting service in September of that year. It was the bond created with domestic pets which kept me on this route and the behaviour aspect of their characters which intrigued me. As a result I enrolled in the Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management with Compass Education and Training. It was the most fascinating and informative of four courses I've done to date.
As well as my love of animals and poetry my other passions are the martial art of Ju-jitsu and riding my Harley Davidson motorbike especially when the sun is splitting the sky.
When his legs didn't work like they use to before
And I had to keep helping him up off the floor
I knew it was time for the playground in sky
And to say my saddest but fondest goodbye
When there are no words to describe my best friend
And what we both shared all those years to the end
I can only be thankful for the time that we had
And hope that one day stop crying tears that are sad
I'll miss you every day you're no longer with me
But when my time comes you'll be the first one I see
Till then, sleep well with your favourite toy
Good night and god bless my beautiful boy! X
